HEBREW SCHOOL

The RPJC Hebrew School has a long history of realizing the full potential of our students to become thriving members of the Jewish community which we are thrilled to continue in the 2017-18 school year. Our focus on educating students in the history, culture, and language of the Jewish people as well as relating modern life to judaism and its traditions is something we prioritize.

We’re pleased to formally announce Rabbi Yisrael Serok as the new teacher of our Religious School! Rabbi Serok comes to us from Ramat, Israel where he served as pulpit Rabbi to a conservative congregation.

As a graduate of Hebrew University (BA), University of Maine (MS), and the Schecter Institute (Rabbinic Ordination) Rabbi Serok has extensive experience teaching all age levels and life experiences including Bar and Bat Mitzvah tutoring, working with children in youth villages who have suffered abuse and neglect, and establishing Beit Midrash for students aged 12-15. In addition to his incredible teaching experience Rabbi Serok is highly active in community service dedicated to creating a thriving Jewish community, an attitude that extends to his belief in a wholistic approach to teaching Religious School.
